Data Science Competitions
We never pass up a good challenge. Ever since our early days as part of deepsense.ai, we have had real fun testing ourselves by taking part in global data science competitions, like Kaggle. We realized that the more experiments we are able to run, the better machine learning results we achieve.
We first developed Neptune for internal use to be able to achieve great results under the same time and budget constraints
Winning the Contest
Using Neptune, we conducted over 1600 experiments, shared infrastructure, collaborated every day and tracked the entire process. Ultimately we built a high-quality machine learning model and won Kaggle’s Right Whale Recognition challenge.
Due to the efficient infrastructure utilization and cut of IT administration work we were able to save about 15% of our data scientist team time. Since then we have been using Neptune in all our projects.
GitHub for Data Scientists
In November 2017 we decided Neptune is ready to be more than a tool. We embedded it into a platform - neptune.ml - a place for everyone to do data science in an elegant way, and a place for the data science community to grow. Our mission is to speed up AI development in the same way GitHub speeded up software development 10 years ago.
TDJ Pitango has brought their experience to our ambition of making Neptune the tool of choice for data scientists all over the world. Since then the story continues but we are too busy to update this section… Stay tuned!
